Case Western Reserve University First Annual DNP Conference

Nicola V. Hawkinson, MA, RNFA, NP proudly participated in Case Westerns first annual DNP conference on Friday October 16, 2009, lead by Dr Joyce Fitzpatrick. Nicola is currently a Case student in the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program preparing for proposal defense.

The DNP conference joined DNP graduates and other nationally recognized leaders in advanced practice nursing. The panel presentations and discussions provided great insight into current nursing trends regarding education, funding, politics, health policy and reform on a national level. In addition, it proposed effective plans to shape the future of nursing practice and leadership. Nicola sat on a panel with four other nursing entrepreneurs. The goal of their lecture was to educate the audience about starting a business. Topic titles included,
