Hiring a physician? The attending physician is an individual who independently responsible for the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients. The ideal physician will elude attentiveness, knowledge, and patience. Patients must be informed, have their interested represented, and feel respected by their attending physician. Thorough assessment and treatment are necessary in order to practice safely. Although the MD may practice independently, it is essential for the MD to be able to work as an inter-disciplinary team member with staff and other collaborating physicians.
