Hiring a Registered Nurse? Registered nurses are responsible for the initial assessment of the patient. The RN will also carry out treatment plans prescribed by the Attending Physician. RNs must have excellent judgment; anticipating and identifying the needs of the patient. The nurse needs to be able to communicate with both physicians and patients, often acting as a liaison between the two. The registered nurse will advocate for her patients while also providing education, guidance, and instruction on treatments, medications, and preventative medicine.
