Spine Surgery in the Ambulatory Surgery Setting

Spine Surgery in the Ambulatory Surgery setting is a three (3) hour educational event for Registered Nurses (RN’s), Nurse Practitioners (NP’s), and Physician Assistant’s (PA’s)   practicing in ambulatory surgery.  Upon completion of this course each participant will receive three (3) CE credits for attendance. 

The course will cover:

  • Preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative considerations in cervical and lumbar spine surgery, including, cervical diskectomy and foraminotomy, ACDF, lumbar laminectomy, lumbar microdiskectomy and lumbar fusion;
  • Recognizing early warning signs and complications following spine surgery;
  • Special considerations for spine surgery in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (“ASC”); and
  • Postoperative and discharge instructions for spine patients.
