Pediatric Spinal Deformity: Treatment of Children with Scoliosis

Pediatric Spinal Deformity: Treatment of Children with Scoliosis is a 4 hour educational event for Registered Nurses (RN’s), Physician Assistant’s (PA’s) and Nurse Practitioner’s (NP’s) caring for adult patients with spinal deformity. . Upon completion of this course each participant will receive three (3) CE credits for attendance.

Course Objective’s Include:

  • Physical Assessment of children with scoliosis; motor and sensory examination
  • Imaging interpretation; full length X-ray, interpretation of Cobb angles; Risser Sign; skeletal maturity
  • Treatment options for children with scoliosis; conservative and operative
  • Post-operative considerations for the surgical patient
