Nurse Manager - Garden City


Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Nurse Manager to oversee operations at our Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC). This role is crucial in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care within Ophthalmology. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, comprehensive knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards, and experience in managing materials and equipment within a surgical setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective leadership and direction to the nursing staff, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and adherence to best practices.
  • Oversee all aspects of the ASC's operations including Pre-op, Post-op, and Operating Room activities.
  • Collaborate with the medical director, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement policies and procedures that ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and licensure regulations, including but not limited to AAAHC, and state health department regulations.
  • Manage and optimize the utilization of materials, equipment, and supplies to support efficient operations while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement action plans as needed.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and ongoing professional development opportunities for nursing staff to promote a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
  • Oversight of the Pre-op/Post-op/OR
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that promotes teamwork, open communication, and mutual respect among staff members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required, Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
  • Active RN license in the state of practice.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience in a multispecialty ambulatory surgical setting, with demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards related to ambulatory surgery centers.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and healthcare information systems.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical and professional standards in patient care delivery.
