Surgical Physician Assistant

Full time Physician Assistant needed to join orthopedic department in Bronx NY.

Physician Assistant schedule: 4 days (7a-7p, or 9a-7p, or 7a-p)

Physician Assistant will round, work in clinic, and be in the OR.

Must be: BC, NYS Licensed

Job Responsibilities:

• Take a patient’s medical history/record demographics
• Order and interpret tests
• Conduct physical examinations
• Diagnose and treat illnesses
• Write prescriptions
• Assist in surgeries
• Complete invasive procedures
• Counsel patients on preventative care
• Explain treatment and care plans for both pre-op and post op
• Proficient knowledge in certain specialty
• Education and Experience:
• Obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in a Science related field
• Obtain a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies
• Take and Pass the Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam (PANCE)
• Certified physician assistants need to take the Physician Assistant National Recertifying Exam (PANRE) during the last two years of the six-year certification maintenance or the 10-year certification maintenance cycle.
