Insurance Authorization Specialist- Great Neck, NY

Spine Search is seeking an insurance authorization specialist or a receptionist with experience in prior authorizations to join a leading plastic surgery practice.

Responsibilities: 

1. Reviewing patient medical records and treatment plans to determine the need for insurance authorization.
2. Contacting insurance companies to initiate the authorization process and providing necessary documentation.
3. Communicating with healthcare providers and patients to gather additional information or clarification as needed.
4. Following up with insurance companies to track the status of authorization requests and ensure timely approvals.
5. Documenting all authorization-related activities accurately and maintaining detailed records.
6. Resolving any issues or denials related to insurance authorization through appeals or other means.
7. Collaborating with other members of the healthcare team to ensure proper authorization procedures are followed and patient care is not delayed.
8. Staying informed about insurance policies, regulations, and reimbursement guidelines to ensure compliance with industry standards.
